New Signet 9900 Transmitter Launched by Georg Fischer

Recently, the Georg Fischer Piping Systems announced the launch of the new Signet 9900 transmitter in California to expand its product line of flow and analysis instrumentation. The new instrument features single-channel multi-parameter input, flexible modular configuration, and automatic sensitometry that can be “at a glance” even in poor light conditions.

One of the highlights of the new product is its large size (3.90” x 3.90”) auto-sensing backlit display with a visible range of 4-5 times that of other transmitters. High-brightness display and large fonts reduce the risk of misinterpretation of displayed values. The branch displays the main measurement values and second measurement values of the measurement unit and the “dialstick” type digital bar chart. Other features include relays and alarm LEDs and an intuitively editable menu.

Flexible, pluggable module designs make it easier to meet changing user needs. Optional modules include relay modules, direct conductivity/resistivity modules, H COMM and PC COMM setting tools. The transmitter can use default settings to quickly and simply complete configuration or custom labels, adjustable minimum or maximum dial settings, measurement units, and decimal point selection. This multi-function device can accept third-party 4-20mA signal input through the 8058 converter.

The Signet 9900 Transmitter can be connected to single channel interfaces including flow, pH/ORP, conductance/resistivity, pressure, temperature, level, salinity, and many other sensors that output 4-20mA signals. Single-channel, multi-parameter capabilities and field-upgradable modularity allow users to reduce spare parts inventory while increasing service levels.

“The 9900 transmitter was developed to provide users with new features while maintaining the features of the older generation of ProcessProTM and ProPointTM product lines that users are accustomed to.” said Norma Frotton, Product Manager, Geoff Fischer Signet, “In addition to being used Single-channel multi-parameter input, the new display makes its reading distance in the dark environment for other transmitters 4-5 times."

The 9900 is available in both disk and field installations. Both versions are powered from 12-32 VDC (24 VDC rating). The 9900 can power some compatible sensors. The maximum error of the output accuracy is ±32μA@25? C@24 VDC with a resolution of 6μA or higher. Standards and certifications include NEMA 4X/IP65, CE, UL, and China RoHS.

The multi-parameter and modular design of the new product allows the instrument to be widely used in wastewater treatment systems, reverse osmosis systems, deionization systems, chemical/dosing systems, metal and plastic processing, flue gas scrubbing, cooling towers, and media filtration.

The Georg Fischer piping system offers a full range of plastic pipes, fittings, pipe connections, valves, actuators, float flow meters, welders, double-line pipes, tank liners, heat exchangers, custom products and Sensors and meters for industrial process control.
