In a follow-up to the previous post and discussions about Skokie Tower 16, Jeff Rudolph captured some new photos of the truck and shared them with the community. He emphasized once again that Tower 16 is still not in service yet, though it's getting closer. The unit has been undergoing final preparations, and the fire department is working through the last few steps before it can officially be put into operation.
Jeff also took a close look at the tower ladder itself, capturing a detailed shot of the 1995/2011 Pierce Lance 1500/250 100' tower ladder. This piece of equipment is one of the more unique vehicles in the Skokie Fire Department’s fleet, known for its impressive height and versatility in high-rise firefighting operations.
Another photo shows the newly applied decal on the pedestal of Tower 16. It looks clean and professional, adding a fresh touch to an already well-maintained apparatus. These small details often go unnoticed but are important for both aesthetics and identification purposes.
The photos provide a great visual update on the progress of Tower 16, and it’s exciting to see how the unit is coming together. Fans of the department and local firefighters alike are keeping a close eye on this one as it moves toward full operational status.
