Get ready for the 14th annual Chicagoland Emergency Vehicle Show, taking place on Saturday, August 6, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Mooseheart, IL — known as “The Child City.” The event is located at Rt. 31 and Mooseheart Road, just north of North Aurora. Registration for vehicles starts at 8 a.m., and the public is welcome to come in at 10 a.m. Admission is free, and it’s a great chance to see exciting demonstrations by local emergency service agencies and organizations.

Pre-registration for show vehicles is free if done by fax or mail — $20 on the day of the event. You can download the registration form here.

The Lights and Sirens Parade & Emergency Vehicle Cruise Night will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011. The parade begins at 7 p.m. sharp from Tinsletown Theater on Rt. 31 in North Aurora. It will arrive at Clocktower Plaza at Oak St. and Randall Rd. to kick off the North Aurora Days festival. Afterward, emergency vehicles will be staged in a safe area where you can enjoy the Cruise Night and explore the festival’s many attractions.

On Sunday, August 7, 2011, there will be a special escorted caravan to the Lake in the Hills Police Department’s Lights & Sirens Parade and National Night Out Against Crime Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show. The caravan departs from Clocktower Plaza at 9 a.m. and the LITH PD parade kicks off at 10 a.m. After the parade, all the emergency vehicles will be gathered for a Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show. For the past three years, the Lake in the Hills Police Department has been an amazing host and even moved their event back by a week this year to accommodate us. This event helps fund their police Explorer program, and we always collect donations for them during the show.

Whether you're a fan of fire trucks, police cars, or ambulances, this event is a must-see. Bring the family, enjoy the atmosphere, and support local first responders. Don’t miss out on the fun — mark your calendar and join us for a day full of lights, sirens, and community spirit!
