The Winnetka Fire Department, part of MABAS Division 3, has introduced a new look with their recently commissioned quint. The 2010 Smeal quint arrived with a black roof, and the department developed a fresh door seal design. This new emblem features a gold and black Maltese cross that incorporates both "Winnetka" and "Kenilworth" into its design. Engine 28, a 2000 Pierce Saber, now has a black top, the updated decal, and new striping. Ambulance 28 also received the same modern touch. However, Engine 28R and Ambulance 28R still retain their original appearance and the previous door decal.

This is how Truck 28 looked before it was retired. It had the latest door seal and two-tone striping.

When the department first received Truck 28 in 1990, the graphics were much simpler, and the door seal featured a sunrise over a lake.

Prior to joining MABAS Division 3, Winnetka’s units carried numbers like “70.†Truck 70 was one of the department’s two aerials, along with a 55-foot Snorkel.
Engine 28 now features a black roof and a triple stripe, along with the new door seal.

The previous design on Engine 28 included both Winnetka and Kenilworth on the rear door. The new decal keeps those names but allows more space for a clean, modern graphic that displays the unit number clearly.
