I just witnessed something truly remarkable while driving along I-65 last night near Crown Point. As I was cruising past, I noticed what looked like a massive fire engulfing a house off the side of the road—it seemed completely ablaze. Curious, I followed the thick plume of smoke and stumbled upon something even more fascinating: the Crown Point (IN) Fire Department was actually wrapping up their training session by setting this house on fire.
They had been using it as a live burn training facility for the past three days, and now it was finally being put to use in the most literal sense. I couldn’t resist snapping a few pictures and even recording some footage while I was there.
