Guangdong Nanshanhai Rare Earth Mine

I. Overview
Nanshanhai Rare Earth Mine is located in the territory of Guangdong Province. It is one of the large-scale monazite-bearing coastal sand deposits in China. The mine began exploration in 1961, was built in 1970, and put into operation in 1973. The entire mine includes mining sites, rough selection sites and selected plants. Products are: monazite, xenotime, zircon, rutile titanium and iron ore concentrates.
Second, the nature of the ore
The Nanshanhai rare earth ore is a coastal sand mine containing monazite and xenotime. The main minerals contained in the ore (Table 1) are: monazite, xenotime, zircon, rutile, white titanium, ilmenite and a small amount of cassiterite ; the main gangue minerals are quartz , feldspar , mica And contains a small amount of tourmaline , topaz , cross stone and so on. The main chemical composition analysis of the ore is shown in Table 2.

The study of the material composition of ore shows that the dispersion of useful elements in sand ore is more serious. Only 74% of rare earths exist in the form of monazite and xenotime; zirconium dioxide is only 57% in the form of zircon; only 50% of titanium dioxide is in the form of ilmenite, rutile, and white iron; The ion adsorption form is distributed among quartz, feldspar and mica.
The particle size determination of useful minerals in ore indicates that 80% of the remaining useful minerals are distributed in the range of 0.125-0.074 mm; 50% are distributed in the range of 0.09-0.074 mm; zircon and The ilmenite is mainly distributed in the range of 0.074 to 0.061 mm.
   Third, the process flow and selection indicators
The rough design of the Nanshanhai rare earth mine was designed by jigging and shaker equipment. Later, in order to save energy and facilitate relocation, it has been changed to a portable combined spiral process (Figure 1).

The selection process of Nanshanhai rare earth ore is based on re-election. Firstly, it is classified according to density. Then, according to the nature of minerals, the separation process is carried out by magnetic separation, electric separation and flotation, respectively. Seismite and xenotime are obtained respectively. , ilmenite, zircon, rutile, magnetite concentrate. The selection process of Nanshanhai rare earth ore is shown in Figure 2. The rare earth sorting indicators are listed in Table 3. The main equipment and specifications are listed in Table 4.
