Badaling cable car equipment for a quarter of an hour due to rain and damp stop passengers

Yesterday (27th) at 2:40 pm, the Badaling Great Wall Cable Car suddenly stopped in midair and several tourists were hung in the air for 15 minutes.

At the time of the incident, visitors to the Badaling Great Wall Scenic Area prepared to ride down the mountain cable car lined up at the ticket office. Suddenly, the cable car was suspended in midair. The staff member said: "The cable car was broken." Tourists queuing at the time were crowded at the ticket office and tourists who were already sitting in the cable car were "hanging" in midair. Many tourists have asked the staff of the ticket office why. About 15 minutes later, the cable car resumed normal operations, and visitors in midair all landed safely. The staff of the scenic spot explained that continuous rain and dampness of the equipment caused the cable car to malfunction and temporarily stop running.
