Bridgestone develops a tire technology that does not rely on air pressure

Bridgestone recently developed a tire technology that does not rely on air pressure. According to reports, the technology uses resin spokes attached along the side of the tire to support the load.

Resin spoke tire

It is understood that about 80% of cars driving on the road have the problem of one or more tires being inflated. The normal driving of a car (especially when it comes to pits or curbs on the road), infiltration, and seasonal changes in temperature all cause tire deflation. In winter, the kilopascal value of a tire falls by one to two units per month, and it drops even more in the summer. Moreover, it is impossible to judge by visual inspection only how they are inflated. Insufficient inflation can not only damage the tires , but also increase fuel consumption, affect the driving style of the car, and bring potential safety hazards.

Bridgestone's tire technology developed this time, using grease spokes instead of air pressure to support the load. The layout of the tire spokes is that the inner peripheral side and the outer peripheral side of each spoke are approximately 45 degrees from the center of the wheel. It is a good way to avoid driving safety hazards caused by tire air pressure problems.

Since the material of the spoke part is made of a thermoplastic resin that can be recycled (material circulation), the rubber including the tread part can be recycled 100%.
