As a famous German large-scale logistics company, Hellmann Logistics began trialing LNG-fueled heavy-duty trucks for four weeks of road transport last autumn. Among the vehicles used is a 330-horsepower Iveco Stralis LNG tractor. This move also made Han Hong Logistics the first German logistics supplier to successfully try LNG trucks.
After road tests showed that the Iveco trucks of LNG fuel can do a good job. René Stocker, head of Han Hong Logistics, said in an interview that during the implementation of our environmental management system, Han Hong Logistics aims to make our services more environmentally friendly and sustainable. The trial of LNG-fueled trucks proves that it can reduce CO2 emissions to a much greater degree than diesel trucks, while other harmful substances such as carbon particles and nitric oxide are almost negligible.
It is reported that in order to achieve test purposes, Han Hong Logistics uses Iveco Stralis LNG tractors to perform daily operations under real conditions. The route that the truck runs is from Magdeburg to Osnabrück. No additional fuel is required on the entire operating line. The experimental Iveco Stralis LNG tractors outperformed diesel trucks in terms of operating noise, especially at night when the LNG trucks were particularly advantageous.
It is reported that natural gas fuel trucks have become a new trend in the world. Compared with traditional diesel trucks, natural gas trucks are more environmentally friendly, have lower greenhouse gas emissions, and operate at lower noise levels, although prices are higher than diesel trucks. However, in the long run, the advantages of natural gas trucks will become increasingly apparent today as the price of oil rises.
