John Tulipano sent in the following report:
"Earlier today, there was a fire at a residence on 976 Tara Court in Wheaton. The flames initially broke out in the back of the house and quickly spread up the exterior wall and into the attic. This was a cul-de-sac, so the second engine company had to deal with a lengthy hose run of around 1000 feet to reach the nearest hydrant. All the responding units had to walk in from Blanchard while carrying their tools and gear. It was incredibly hot too—around 98 degrees Fahrenheit when the fire broke out.
Check out these photos I took. The first image shows the house at the end of the dead-end street. You can see how far the companies had to march just to get to the scene under such brutal heat conditions.
In the next photo, you'll notice the tower ladders that were dispatched from both Wheaton and Glen Ellyn. They played a crucial role in managing the situation from above.
Here's another shot featuring Wheaton’s Seagrave engine positioned right in front of the burning building. As firefighters worked tirelessly to contain the blaze, the intensity of the fire became evident from its visibility on the peak of the cedar shake roof.
These images really capture the challenges faced by emergency responders during high-temperature incidents like this one."
Attached are four photos taken by John Tulipano that vividly illustrate the severity and scale of the incident."
