Skokie Engine 17 rehabbed

Jef Rudolph recently shared that Skokie Engine 17 is back in action after spending time at Renewed Performance, Inc. (RPI). During its stay there, the vehicle underwent extensive bodywork and paint repairs, along with the installation of brand-new LED lighting. Additionally, some minor adjustments were made to the pump system. As per the latest updates, it’s expected to return to active service by next week. Attached are several images showcasing the transformation. The first picture, captured by Jeff Rudolph, gives us a front view of the engine. Compared to its previous appearance, which featured a simple grille and conventional lighting, Engine 17 now sports a more modern look with updated chevron striping visible in the rear view image also taken by Rudolph. Notably, the door seals and "Skokie" decals have been refreshed since the engine's original delivery, as seen in Larry Shapiro's photograph. Another angle provided by Rudolph highlights how the new LED lighting package complements the updated aesthetic while maintaining functionality. These enhancements not only improve visibility but also contribute to overall safety during emergency operations. With these upgrades complete, Skokie Engine 17 stands ready to continue serving the community effectively. In summary, this recent maintenance visit marks another step forward for the fleet, ensuring that each piece of equipment remains reliable and efficient. We look forward to seeing Engine 17 back on duty soon!
