Autodesk Announces Multiple New AEC Cloud Offerings for the Design Industry

We're thrilled to announce some exciting new developments for our Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) design customers. Starting next year, we'll be introducing cloud-enabled document management to the AEC Collection. Additionally, we’re launching two innovative offerings designed specifically for those who create and review design content. These updates reflect our commitment to supporting our clients as they transition to fully digital, remote collaboration workflows, ensuring they can continue using their preferred design tools. These enhancements are powered by connections to both BIM 360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud. Built on a unified platform and shared data environment, these products integrate data, processes, and teams across the entire building lifecycle—from initial design to final operations. Firstly, starting next year, **Autodesk Docs** will be integrated into the AEC Collection. As a user-friendly tool, Autodesk Docs simplifies navigation and streamlines workflows, creating a single source of truth for the entire project lifecycle. This means that the hundreds of thousands of existing AEC Collection customers will now have the ability to share, manage, and review designs and models directly in the cloud. Next up, we’re excited to introduce **Autodesk BIM Collaborate**, tailored for non-authoring collaborators such as project managers, clients, and VDC specialists. Based on the Autodesk Construction Cloud platform, BIM Collaborate empowers teams to align and execute design intent and constructability within a cloud-based solution. This tool ensures that everyone involved has access to the latest updates and can collaborate effectively, no matter where they are. Furthermore, our popular BIM 360 Design offering will evolve into **Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro**. This pro version offers advanced model coordination features, including clash detection and issue management, along with deeper insights into project analytics. Clients will also benefit from enhanced connections to the Autodesk Construction Cloud, ensuring top-tier efficiency and quality in design delivery. In addition to these updates, we’re enhancing the integration of AutoCAD into the AEC workflow. The recently launched Autodesk Docs Extension for AutoCAD allows CAD drawings to be easily published as a PDF directly from AutoCAD to either Autodesk Docs or BIM 360. This integration bridges the gap between traditional drafting tools and modern cloud-based solutions. At the core of these offerings lies our mission to make your data more accessible in the cloud, enabling you to work from anywhere, and fostering collaboration from the design phase through to construction. Let's explore these transformative changes further. --- ### New Value for AEC Collection Users The AEC Collection will soon include comprehensive document management alongside project dashboards and reports via **Autodesk Docs**, which is built on the Autodesk Construction Cloud platform. A flexible subscription model will let project owners invite collaborators—whether internal or external—to join projects seamlessly. These new features accelerate the shift toward digital workflows, making it simple to store vast amounts of data in one platform while enabling design reviews and project analytics tailored to the most commonly used file types in the AEC industry. With **Autodesk Docs** at its foundation, the common data environment becomes more robust, centralizing document management to provide users with smooth navigation and integrated workflows. This ensures a single source of truth throughout the project lifecycle. All drawings, models, specifications, photos, and annotations come together in one location for streamlined review and management. Version control and standardized approval workflows give project teams quick access to the correct information anytime, whether they’re working from home, at the job site, or reviewing on the move. --- ### New Offering for Non-Authoring Project Contributors We’ve noticed a growing trend among AEC professionals who conduct design reviews in the cloud without needing access to design creation tools. Often, these contributors just need to assess changes in the context of other disciplines. Up until now, options for cloud-based design reviews were limited for these collaborators. **BIM Collaborate** addresses this need, making it effortless to view in-progress changes on desktops and mobile devices without requiring a subscription to Autodesk. Features such as project timelines, aggregated model viewing, and change review offer design teams profound insights into the real-time status of the design phase. This helps teams quickly understand changes while tools like clash detection and issue management ensure high-quality designs reach the field. --- ### Pro Version Enhances Full-Project Lifecycle Collaboration When **Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro** launches next year, existing customers will enjoy upgraded coordination and advanced project analytics capabilities, including model coordination and insights. They’ll retain access to the full range of cloud collaboration features like Design Collaboration, Revit Cloud Worksharing, and Collaboration for Civil 3D and Plant 3D. Today’s announcements are part of our continuous effort to foster an open ecosystem that promotes coordinated workflows and interoperability—not only within our products but also across all our customers' work, regardless of where it originates. We’re eager to see how our customers enhance workflow coordination at every stage of a project with the power of cloud collaboration. Learn more about these updates this week at Autodesk University, and keep an eye out for these new offerings to launch next year.
