Dana Holding Corporation, a top 500 US company, will set up an R&D center in Wuxi New District and expand its production scale. On March 8, 2011, Dana Corporation and Wuxi New District signed a cooperation agreement. American Dana Corporation is the world's leading multinational manufacturer of auto parts. In 2001, it entered the Wuxi New District to invest and set up factories. It mainly produces axles and cooling systems for construction machinery and commercial vehicles. This time, Dana plans to increase its registered capital by US$30 million to set up an R&D center in Wuxi, and it will be completed and put into use during the year. It will eventually form a scale of 200 R&D personnel; at the same time, it will also introduce commercial vehicle driveshafts and engine cooling system production lines.
Wuxi welcomes high-end manufacturing projects to settle in the new district. Wuxi will create a good environment and support Dana’s development in the new district. The high-end equipment manufacturing industry is one of the pillar industries in Wuxi City, and it is also a strategic emerging industry that will be focused on during the 12th Five-Year Plan period.
