Vaahto rebuilds pulp drying equipment in Finland to improve performance

On March 21, 2011, Vaahto, a Finnish pulp and paper machine, had received an order from the Imatra paper mill in Stora Engen, Finland. According to news received by the Russian analysis agency Lesprom Network, the plant's chemical pulp drying equipment will be transformed in order to achieve higher production and better operational performance.

Imatra Paper produces pulp and hardwood pulp. In addition, pulp drying equipment is also used for the production of chemical thermomechanical pulp CTMP.

Vaahto's delivery includes dewatering equipment and suction rolls, as well as a blanket loop, as well as the required guide rollers, spray equipment and extension rollers. In addition, Honeywell's Devronizer steam box is also an important part of the reconstruction system.

The width of the paper machine is 3600mm, and the design speed is 300m/min. The maximum daily output of drying equipment is approximately 1,300 tons.

Vaahto's recent technical support for the Imatra mill includes liquid packaging board production lines, BM1, BM4, BM5, as well as the coated board machine BM2.

The equipment in the order will be installed at Vahhto's workshop in Hollola and Tampere, Tampere, Finland. The paper is expected to open in November 2011. The order value is approximately 200-300 million euros.
