The degree of soil acidity is expressed in terms of pH. The TS-1 soil acidity meter is a special instrument for measuring soil pH. It is simple to operate and easy to carry, also known as a portable soil pH meter. The measurement time can be read out in 30-60 seconds to read the PH value of the measured soil, and the measurement accuracy is high. Let's briefly understand how to use the TS-1 soil acidity meter.
First, remove the top soil of the soil to be measured by about 5 cm; then, smash the soil down to 13 cm deep, and clean up any organic impurities in the soil that may affect the test results, such as leaves and roots. Soak the soil with water and mix well into a paste. In order to achieve a more accurate analysis, a part of the soil can be collected from the soil under test, stones and organic debris can be removed, and the soil can be ground into a powder and 2 cups of sample can be removed from it; a clean glass or glass can be prepared. In a plastic container, pour 2 cups of distilled water or deionized water, add the sample, and mix them until they are fully mixed and compacted. Discard the excess water.
Second, wipe the probe about 10-12 cm using the cleaning cotton supplied with the purchase. Care should be taken to avoid touching the probe to other metal surfaces; wipe the probe again with a cotton product or paper and rub it from the probe to the end of the probe each time.
Then insert the probe vertically into the moist soil about 10-12 cm deep; if the probe is not easy to insert, try again with a new one. Do not forcibly insert the probe under any circumstances to avoid damaging the probe.
Finally, rotate the probe several times in the clockwise and counterclockwise directions between the fingers to confirm that the wet soil topsoil is well distributed around the probe; wait 60 seconds before reading the data. If the test result is greater than pH 7: Remove the probe from the soil and wipe off the soil particles on the surface of the probe. After wiping the probe, re-insert it in a new location in the soil and test it again. Rotate the probe 2-3 times between fingers and read the data after 30 seconds. If the test result is less than pH 7: Remove the probe from the soil and wipe off the soil particles from the probe surface. Do not wipe the probe, re-insert it in a new location in the soil and test it again. Rotate the probe 2-3 times between the fingers and read the data 60 seconds later.
