Impact idlers are also called buffer idlers or feeding idlers. They are used as carrying idlers instead of normal steel idlers at a loading point. On steel roller there are rubber rings assembled, side by side,and Impact Idler frames are reinforced to reduce bending and withstand heavy material loads, to absorb the weight and impact of material falling onto the belt. At the same time impact idlers reduce the shock and vibration through the steel structure.
Impact idlers are located at loading and transfer points , are a special version of troughing idlers, providing a roll with cushioning rubber discs to lessen the belt damage due to impact from materials being loaded onto the belt. The frame is additionally reinforced to increase ridgidity.
