The Lyons Fire Department made a strong appearance on Father’s Day (June 19, 2016), as they were on standby at a local auto show. They deployed Engine Company 1312, Medic 1314, and the Mobile Ventilation Unit from MABAS Division 10, which was operating in DECON mode to serve as a cooling station for attendees on this sweltering 95-degree day. The unit was set up to mist people and help them stay comfortable in the heat.
Chief Nord's vehicle, Car 1301, was also on site with its hood open, giving the public a rare peek inside a fire chief’s car. It was a great opportunity for visitors to learn more about the department and see the equipment up close.
