Warehouse fire in Bedford Park, 10-6-16

This is a report from Josh Boyajian: Around 2 PM today (Thursday, October 6th, 2016), the Bedford Park Fire Department responded to 6650 South Oak Park Avenue after receiving reports of smoke coming from a two-story commercial building. Upon arrival, the first responding engines quickly deployed their hoses, while Tower 709 and Truck 31 directed their water streams onto the roof. Firefighters discovered heavy smoke inside the structure, which housed a recycling center. Multiple handlines were used to bring the blaze under control. At the conclusion of the firefighting operation, MABAS 10 Mobile Ventilation Unit (MVU) was brought in to help clear the remaining smoke from the building.
