Russia decides to impose a safeguard tariff on imported steel fasteners

According to foreign reports, the Golden Spider reporter learned from the Russian manufacturing association Rosmetiz that Russia has decided to impose a US$282.4/t safeguard duty on imported steel fasteners for a period of three years. The investigation was initiated by the industrial sector of the Russian Federation 20 months ago. The decision was announced on February 12, 2011 and became effective one month after it was publicly released.

The products involved include:

1. Hexagonal heads, round heads, and four-headed steel bolts with an outer diameter of 6 to 30 mm (does not include bolts with additional components, flanges, rings, or spiked designs).

2. Hexagonal head steel nuts with an internal thread diameter of 5 to 30mm (not including extra components, nuts with flanges and retaining rings).

3, single-rotation spring washer with inner diameter of 6 ~ 42mm.

The tariff codes involved are 7318158100, 7318158900, 7318159009, 7318169109, 7318169900, 7310810009.

It is understood that although this measure does not include products originating in Belarus and other developing countries, it has not ruled out mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao.
