Torqeedo from Germany launches Torqeedo's environmentally friendly engine

It is reported that Germany's Torqeedo will launch its innovative electric motor at the 19th British Seawork International Exhibition in 2016.

This new generation Cruise 10.0R motor is equivalent to a 20HP internal combustion engine. With a peak power of 12 kW, a continuous power of 10 kW and a voltage of 48 volts, the aircraft will provide non-emission performance for ships at speeds up to 17.2 knots (31.9 km/h).

It is understood that the Cruise 10.0R motor has a minimum weight of 47.2kg and has a power tilt function at a maximum speed of 1,400 rpm and a static thrust of 315 lbs. Since the Cruise 10.0R motor is available in three shaft lengths from 38.5 cm to 63.9 cm, it is suitable for use with a wide range of vessels.

Due to its very robust design, it prevents corrosion, is suitable for sea water and is completely waterproof, so it is suitable for harsh environments and extreme conditions. The Cruise 10.0R motor powers and thrusts for the scooter and the 10 ton displacement hull.

As a petrol outboard with no fuel leaks and emissions, Torqeedo's environmentally friendly engine can achieve the same power.
