At 3:40 in the afternoon, the Nanjing Metro responded again, saying that the primary cause of the accident was the leakage of water at the joint between the wall and the line of the second line, where the stratum was medium dense fine sand and was located in the Qinhuai River. Ancient roads, poor geological conditions, causing soil erosion, causing ground subsidence.
