The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region held a seminar on promotion of central enterprises’ aid projects to promote Xinjiang. Zhang Chunxian, party secretary of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, met with representatives of central enterprises and fully affirmed the achievements made by the central enterprises in aiding Xinjiang.
Since the start of the Aidian work, Sinopec seriously implemented the central government’s decision-making and deployment, increased the investment in Xinjiang’s development and aid efforts, and achieved positive progress. Compared with 2005, Sinopec Corp. cumulatively produced 7.99 million tons of crude oil in Xinjiang, an increase of 83%; 16.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas production, an increase of 182%; and processed 1.64 million tons of refined oil, and the market supply rate reached 26%; Taxes and fees 13.2 billion yuan, an increase of 9 times; to solve the employment population of 12,000 people.
Cai Xiyou, senior vice president of Sinopec Corp., attended the meeting. In the meantime, he also made a special trip to the Northwest Oil Field Research and Production Park and Xinjiang Petrochemical 7-Daowan Gas Station in Urumqi to visit the staff of the Xinjiang enterprise.
