On June 16, Dalian Goodyear Tire Co., Ltd. announced the launch of its first domestically developed high-performance passenger tire, the EagleF1GS-D3, which utilizes the innovative "extractable coagulation" tire technology. The tire is set to hit the market in July and is specifically designed for luxury vehicles, offering enhanced performance in both wet and dry conditions. The EagleF1GS-D3 features an integrated tread design that combines solid central ribs with strong shoulder blocks, connected by a unique extreme V-ribbed structure. This design significantly improves wet grip, dry handling, and ride comfort, delivering a driving experience that feels agile and smooth—similar to racing tires. The crown is made of a rubber tile with a non-slip silicone formula, enhancing traction and braking power on both dry and wet surfaces. The seamless center rib ensures precise steering, while the uninterrupted tread and shoulder connection help balance pressure for better acceleration and braking performance. The closed shoulder design boosts lateral rigidity, improving dry cornering performance. The extreme V-shaped grooves are positioned perpendicular to the edge of the contact patch, allowing air to be fully drawn into the grooves and squeezed out, ensuring quiet operation. According to Michael Martins, chairman and general manager of Dalian Goodyear, the EagleF1GS-D3 is a successor to the GS-D2 model, which was introduced in Europe in February 2002. The new model has already begun production in Dalian and is expected to be available this July. The GS-D2, launched in 1997, has sold over 2 million units worldwide. Looking ahead, Dalian Goodyear plans to start producing run-flat tires (EMT) in 2006, which will offer improved safety, handling, mobility, and convenience. Additionally, Goodyear's U.S. headquarters has decided to reinvest $120 million (approximately 1 billion yuan) to expand its Dalian factory. This expansion aims to increase production capacity from 7,500 to 15,000 tire strips per day, meeting the growing demand for replacement and accessory tires in China. Since its establishment in September 1994, Dalian Goodyear has been supplying exclusive tires for models such as the BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series, Audi A6 2.8, and Peugeot 307. All tires are transported in containers without individual packaging, reducing environmental impact. The EagleF1GS-D3 also includes advanced features like a high-definition steel wire belt for impact resistance, spiral-wound crown cord for high-speed stability, reinforced high-curtain turn-ups for mechanical protection, a halobutyl inner liner for airtightness, and a pitch-optimized ply for responsive steering.
