IntroductionÂ
The self-cleaning filter features metal filter cartridges inside. When the filter elements become clogged, a specially designed backwashing arm cleans each element individually. During filtering, water enters the element from both ends. During backwashing, the top end partially opens while water is flushed out from the bottom end.
This self-cleaning filter has a large filter area, high flow rate, compact structure, and high reliability, making it ideal for high-flow and dirty water filtration applications. The XF series includes two sub-series: M Series for low flow rates or filtration above 300 μm, and S Series for filtration below 300 μm. Single filter flow ranges from 5 to 3000 m³/h, with inlet and outlet nozzles ranging from 2" to 24".
The self-cleaning filter effectively removes solid particles from water and low-viscosity liquids (such as metalworking coolants). Working Principle
[ Filtering ] Liquid flows into the filter via the inlet. Part of the liquid flows directly through the filter elements from the lower ends. Another part flows through the distribution pipe into the upper part of the filter and then into the filter elements from both the upper and lower ends. After passing through the internal surface of the filter element, the liquid exits through the outlet. Impurities are trapped by the elements, and a filter cake gradually builds up, causing a gradual increase in the pressure drop between the inlet and outlet. This indicates that the filter cake has reached a certain thickness, and the flow rate of the filter element decreases.
[ Back-flushing ] When the preset pressure drop or time limit is exceeded, the self-cleaning cycle begins. A gear motor drives the cleaning arm to align with one filter element, partially covering the top end and connecting the lower end to the cleaning nozzle. Then, the cleaning valve opens, connecting the element to the discharge pipe. The differential pressure between the outside of the element and the discharge nozzle causes the filtrate to backwash the filter element, dislodging the filter cake and purging it downward into the sewage pipe. Once the element is cleaned, the cleaning valve closes, and the cleaning arm moves to the next element. When all elements are cleaned, the entire backwashing sequence is complete.
