In a follow-up to the previous post and discussions about Skokie Tower 16, Jeff Rudolph captured some new photos of the truck and shared them with us. He also confirmed once again that Tower 16 is still not in service yet. These images give a better look at the apparatus, which is currently undergoing final preparations before it can be officially deployed.
The first image shows the 1995/2011 Pierce Lance 1500/250 100' tower ladder, which has been recently refitted and is now in its final stages of readiness. The photo was taken by Jeff Rudolph and highlights the clean, well-maintained appearance of the unit. It's clear that the department is taking great care in ensuring everything is in order before it goes into service.
Another shot focuses on the pedestal of Tower 16, where a new decal has been applied. This detail adds a fresh touch to the already impressive structure and reflects the attention to branding and professionalism that the Skokie Fire Department maintains. Jeff captured this close-up shot, giving us a closer look at the updated design.
While the unit isn't yet operational, these updates and photos suggest that the team is working hard to bring Tower 16 up to full functionality. It’s always exciting to see progress on such important equipment, and we appreciate Jeff’s continued efforts to document the process.
