GE receives order for ballast water treatment system for 4+2+2 boat sets

Recently, GE successfully obtained a ballast water treatment system of 4+2+2 sets of ship liners from a well-known shipyard in China. The equipment will be used on the 3800TEU container ship built for the famous German shipowner Hamburg Sued.
It is reported that the GEA ballast water treatment system BallastMaster MarineX uses pure physical technology, does not use or produce chemicals; the system uses low-pressure ultraviolet technology, energy consumption is reduced by more than 50% compared with medium-pressure ultraviolet light, and the service life is longer than medium-pressure ultraviolet light. More than double the system's integrated filter and UV treatment in a single housing, reducing equipment size and ease of installation; the system is suitable for three waters (sea, salt and fresh water) and tested at UVT 44% water quality. (The smaller the UVT is, the worse the water quality is. The smaller the UVT is, the wider the water system is.) The GEA ballast water treatment system completed all land-based, sea-based and safety tests required by the USCG in 2014, and in 2015. In March, the USCG submitted the information and waited for the final approval of the USCG, which will give priority to the final approval of the USCG. (now owns AMS)
Hamburg Sued has placed a high level of trust in GEA marine products in this shipbuilding project. In addition to the ballast water treatment system, the ship also uses GEA's traditional fuel products, oil separators, fuel supply and pressurization systems.
