China National Petroleum Corporation's deputy general manager of Natural Gas and Pipeline Branch Hou Chuang introduced that according to the plan, the second trunk line of the West-East Gas Pipeline entered the Khorgos Port, after Dushanzi, Urumqi, in the Hongliu and West-East Gas Pipelines. The line overlaps, then eastwards via Jiuquan, Shandan, Wuwei, after the Yellow River in Ningxia Zhongwei is separated from the West-East Gas Pipeline line, and passes through Xi’an, Nanchang, and Cangzhou to the southeast and reaches Guangzhou. The trunk line is 4,945 km long. Branch lines include Xinjiang Lunnan-Turlufan, Ningxia Zhongwei-Shaanxi Jingbian, Henan Luoyang-Jiangsu Xuzhou, Jiangxi Nanchang-Shanghai, Jiangxi Yushu-Hunan Xiangtan, Guangdong Wengyuan-Shenzhen (Hong Kong), Guangdong Guangzhou-Nanning Guangxi, Guangdong Zhaoqing - Zhanjiang (Haikou), a total length of 3849 kilometers.
Hou Ventures said that in terms of gas prices, based on international prices, combined with the capacity of domestic gas users, the average price of gate stations in the second-tier cities of West-East Gas Pipeline exceeded RMB 3/m3. If the pipeline fees are determined in a step-by-step manner, the prices in the coastal areas will be higher.
According to another understanding, there are three underground gas storage facilities for the construction of the Second West-East Gas Pipeline: Pingdingshan in Henan, Yunying Salt Cavern in Hubei and Machang Water Storage in Nanchang, with a working gas volume of 2.2 billion cubic meters, and one LNG peaking station. According to the plan, the second West-East Gas Pipeline began gas transmission in 2010 and 30 billion cubic meters in 2012.
