Huada Semiconductor Launches Water Meter Solution Based on MCU Technology

[China Instrument Network Instrumentation New Products] Huada Semiconductor Co., Ltd. recently demonstrated the integrated water meter solution for ultra-low power MCU technology at the 6th Intelligent Three-Table IC Innovation Technology Seminar. The solution is based on the ultra-low power technology of Huada Semiconductor MCU and meets the industry's rigid requirements for smart meter power consumption.

The use scenario of the smart water meter determines that the internal battery must be used for power supply, and the industry requires the working life of the water meter to reach 6 years or more. This imposes stringent requirements on the overall power consumption of the water meter. Taking the reed pipe metering water meter as an example, the capacity of a typical 18505 battery is 3500 mAh. To ensure that the water meter working time is longer than 6 years, the average power consumption current index of the entire meter must be controlled within 10 μA to be qualified.

Reducing the power consumption of water meters at all stages of the work life cycle is an urgent problem to be solved by designers. Through on-site measurement, the water meter integrated with this MCU chip demonstrates that the overall current work under full-time working condition is controlled below 1 mA; at low frequency 32.768 Hz, the overall current is about 10 mA; when it enters full power saving mode, the overall current energy Less than 4μA, its low-power performance is widely recognized by industry customers.
